When Leo Fender introduced the Fender Broadcaster (now called the Telecaster) in 1952, it shook the music world to the core - and it has never recovered. Fender, perhaps more than any other company, helped to launch rock and roll music with its introduction of the very first solid-body guitars. Many other companies soon followed suit, but Fender Electric Guitars were the first ones, and the company that Leo Fender started has not given up one inch of ground in the pursuit of the perfect instrument.
The list of players who play Fender is too long to list here (or anywhere really) but the names of players that are the most strongly associated with Fender electric guitars are truly household names: Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Richie Blackmore are all Stratocaster players. Not to mention that the telecaster has become the de facto standard for all country guitar players. In fact, it's almost impossible to go to a country music concert and not see someone playing a Telecaster.
