Kramer guitars are designed for the guitarist who wants to rock out hard! There is no mistake with these beauties - they're not sedate, polite-sounding guitars. Kramer guitars are designed with the heavy metal player in mind. Almost all models feature multiple humbucking pickups and Floyd Rose Tremolo systems, for maximum tone and string bendability (let all your dive-bombing dreams come true) Kramer guitars started out in the mid-seventies, and immediately started breaking all the rules. For one thing, the necks were made out of aluminum. The people at Kramer found that aluminum wasn't susceptible to the warping and seasonal changes that tortured wooden necks. The fretboards were also different, made of a substance called Ebonol, which is the same stuff that bowling balls were made of. Like aluminum, it was also guaranteed not to chip, crack or warp, and it also had the feel of a traditional fretboard. The guitar bodies themselves were made of the highest quality exotic tonewoods available, such as bubinga and koa. In 1984, due to dropping sales of their aluminum-necked guitars, Kramer moved to an all-wood production line. The person who really launched this rebirth of Kramer guitars was none other than Eddie Van Halen. He famously used Kramer guitars during the early part of his career and lent his not-unsubstantial weight to help promote the Kramer line. Kramer is now owned by Gibson guitars, and continues to this day to crank out some of the highest-quality guitars available for heavy rock with specifically designed guitars to meet the needs of today's guitarist.
