Find great deals on left-handed electric guitars here:
Why are so many musicians left-handed? They say that if you're a "left brain" person, you tend to think more analytically and are probably right-handed, while "right brain" people tend to be more creative and artistic, as well as having a higher probability of being left-handed. While this isn't a problem if you're playing, say, a pipe organ or piano, it can be a real bugger if you're trying to play the guitar which is most definitely designed for right-handed people.
If you're a left-handed guitarist, you basically have three options. Option one is to learn to play the guitar right-handed. This is probably the most common solution and, in my opinion, one of the best ones, because left-handed people can more easily do complex tasks with their left hands and, no question, the fretboard side of the guitar is the more complicated end. Option two is to take a regular, right-handed guitar and modify it so that it can be played like a left-handed guitar. This is the solution favored by such luminaries as Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney. The simplest modification is generally to simply reverse the way the guitar is strung, along with turning the instrument upside-down, of course. Option three is to purchase a true left-handed instrument. Since guitar manufacturers are becoming more and more aware of the challenges faced by right-brain musicians, left-handed guitars are now easier than ever to find.
